Show PREDICT SMALL CROP. World's Wheat Yield Set at 25 Per Cent Less by Experts. Rome. The International Institute of Agriculture reports that with harvesting har-vesting virtually nearly completed in most European countries, indications are that the 1916 world's wheat supply sup-ply will be almost 25 per cent less than last year's. It is pointed out, however, that 1915 was a bumper year and that the new crop will be nearly up to the average between 1900 and 1913. Harvesting on a large scale is now limited to North America, Great Britain, Russia Rus-sia and Scandinavia. The world's barley crop is estimated estimat-ed at 20 per cent less than last year although 5 per cent above the aver age. The oats yield is put at 22 per cent less than in 1915, but 15 per cent above the average. |
