Show Swallowing of Pin Proves Fata) Mr. and Mrs. C. Arthur Janson have the sympathy of the community j in the loss of their darling child, Lilly Casllda who died last Friday shortly ; afternoon August IS, aged nearly 1 four years. She was born in this city October 20, 11)12. Funeral was held Sunday at 3 p. m., conducted by Hp. E. Swalberg from the meetlhghouse and at which consoling remarks were made by James Rasmnssen and Joseph Jos-eph Christenson. Singing was furnished fur-nished by the choir under direction of Fred J. Fjeldsted. The death of this child was caused by acute inflammation of the bowels due to a puncture of the stomach by a pin about three inches long which it had swallowed a little more than a week before. After swallowing the pin the child suffered occasional convulsions con-vulsions and at the instance of Dr. Peck she was taken to the hospital ut Salina where the X-ray was applied. The pin was shown to be lodged with the point puncturing the lining of the stomach. An operation for its extraction ex-traction Thursday was successful and the case seemed hopeful. But during Friday peritonitis set in and the child succumbed soon after one o'clock that afternoon while yet at the hospital. hos-pital.
