Show WASHINGTON SCHOOL By Elva Sorenson. The grammar grades met in general gen-eral session on Monday morning and decided to organize into various industrial in-dustrial clubs, as outlined by Prof. J.C. Hogenson of the Utah Agricultural Agricul-tural college. The clubs outlined are: For the Boys Potatoe club, sugar beet and mangel wurzel club, garden club, poultry club, corn and pig club. For the Girls Bread making club, sewing club, flower garden club, and canning club. The purpose of these clubs is to interest in-terest tlie young people of our school in the study of agriculture and home economics, and thus help them in their preparation for life's work on the farm and in the home. These clubs will be completly organized next week. The boys are taking daily practice in baseball and are fast rounding into a first-rate ball team. Dr. J. A. Hagan, quarantine physician phy-sician visited the school last week officially. There have been some new cases of whooping cough, but they are extremely light and we are in hopes that the disease will soon be stamped out. Some neat booklets are in course of preparation by the students of Prin-' cipal Rasmussen's nature-agriculture class. The program for tho Apex class meeting to be. held Thursday, April 6th is as follows: Lecture on sanitation, sanita-tion, by Dr. J. A. Hagan; piano solo, Miss Amy Cooper; recitation, Mrs. August Villard; vocal solo, Mrs. Ljv-ell Ljv-ell Childs; reading, Ernest Pierce; vocal solo, Virginia Peterson; recitation, recita-tion, Erma Luudebcrg; solo, Nora Weiser. |
