Show Local Echoes. The high school boys expect this Friday night to "do" the town 'stars' in basketball contest. Mrs. .1. W. Jones gave a miscellaneous miscella-neous shower Wednesday evening at her home, in honor of Miss Talula. Metcalf whose engagement to Sir. Daunt Sanders is announced. Mrs. Elsie K. Bartholomew, quite a staunch worker among the women of our community left with her faml-I faml-I ly. Tuesday to make a new home at Lyman, Wyoming. Her brother, L. D. Christenson, with his family also gave Gunnison the shake and he, too, will homestead in the vicinity of Lyman. Ly-man. They have our best wishes. The high waters gave rise to alarm last week and as a precaution the reservoir was partly drawn by the otlieials in charge. The schoul band, under tuition of LaBarth Fjeldsted gave a 15-rainute program on the schoul green Monday afternoon. It was their first playing play-ing outside the study room and was certainly a delight to listeuers who happened to be passing at the time. The little folks took the program through in a style and harmony Unit bespeaks ultimate efficiency. It's the best juvenile band wo have had yet, and should be encouraged. Mrs. L. Inger Jensen was given a surprise party at her home hist Friday Fri-day by members of the Belief society. The party was tendered as a farewell to Mrs. Jensen, who with her husband and family, left Wednesday to make their home at Holder, Millard county. Mrs. Jensen was an ardent worker iu the society, her daughter similarly &o in the Primary association, while Mr. Jensen was president over the Elders' ) quorum.
