Mrs. Agnes Palmer of Manti spent several days in Gunnkion this week visiting with her son, Ross Palmer. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Metcalf returned return-ed from Salt, Lake Tuesday evening. They spent several days visiting with friends at the capitol city. Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Kearns were among the county seat visitors last Monday. They spent the day there combining business with pleasure. Water Commissioner E. A. Porter passed through town this morning on his way from Delta to Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Porter will reside at Salt La-ke the remainder of the winter. Miss Rhoda Jensen, a student of the Wasatch academy at Mt. Pleasant, Pleas-ant, spent last Sunday and Monday visiting with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Marius Jensen. President W. Harvey lloss of the Gunnison Valley Sugar company returned re-turned to Salt Lake after spending several days hero looking after his interests. R. H. Green, representing the National City bank oi New York City, spent Wednesday in Gunnison visiting visit-ing with the officers of the Gunnison Valley bank.. Mr. Green announces that his company will establish a branch of their bank at Salt. Lake and he is visiting the several towns in the state and getting acquaintta with the Utah banking fraternity. Niel . Sorenson, the contracting plumber, was a northbound passenger passen-ger this morning. He will be absent at Salt Lake until the first of the coming week looking after business matters. Mrs. Fred Jensen, and daughter, Miss Geniel Jensen, of Brant, Canada, Can-ada, were arrivals from the north the early days of the iveek. Mrs. Jensen Jen-sen will remain here for the winter as the guest of her mother, Mrs. S. E. Newman. John Moore, once a resident here, came down from Salt Lake last Saturday Sat-urday and in company with Lou Voorhees, sought a likely spot in the mountains for deer. Both nimrods succeeded in bringing down a luie buck deer each. "Armistice Day" in Gunnison was not extensively observed and had it not been for the few flags floating one would not have known that it was a holiday. Exercises were held at the High school and in some of the grade schools. Mrs. S. E. Newman, who has been absent for the past six weeks, has returned re-turned to her home in Gunnison.
