Show SHIP RUN DOWN IN FOG. Schooner Rammed in San Francisco Bay by Steamer Harvard. San Francisco. The Pacific Navigation Navi-gation company's fast passenger tur-biner tur-biner Harvard, inward bound from San Pedro with about 500 passengers, ran into and sank the steam schooner Lxcelsior in San Francisco harbor in a dense fog. The Excelsior, outward bound in ballast, was struck on the starboard beam and went down slowly, slow-ly, giving all hands ample time to find safety in the launches that were quickly alongside. A report that one member of the -crew was missing could not be confirmed. The Harvard was undamaged. |
