VACANCIES FILLED BY CITY FATHERS At an adjourned meeting of the city council held late last week, two vacancies which had been created by resignations, were filled. The vacancy va-cancy made by the resignation of Anthony An-thony Madsen at the August meeting was filled by the appointment of George H. Halverson. Mayor Knighton Knight-on was sustained in the appointment by the unanimous vote of the council. Mr. Halverson is well and favorably favor-ably known in Gunnison and his period per-iod of office runs until the coming fall election, at which time Mr. Mad-sen's Mad-sen's term would have expired. The city council also acted upon the vacancy made by the resignation of Mrs. Libby Peterson, as city treasurer. treas-urer. Mrs. Peterson, who has been an efficient officer, resigned as she has planned to spend the winter in : Salt Lake City. Her place was filled by the appointment of J. PI. Mace. Mr. Mace is also well known in Gunnison Gun-nison and the selection meets with the approval of the citizens.
