Oscar Berglund, the banker, after af-ter an absence of several days, is back from Salt Lake City. During his absence Mr. Berglund attended a meeting of the directors of the Gunnison Gun-nison Valley Sugar company at Salt Lake and spent a day visiting with friends at Lark. Miss Gladys Gribble was hostess to thirty of her young friends at a i lawn pary at the Gribble residence last Saturday evening. An array of colored electric lights over the lawn gave a pleasing effect and the merrymakers merry-makers enjoyed games until 12 o'clock when a light lunch of Ice cream and cake were served. Mrs. E, A. Parks and children, who have been in Salt Lake for the early summer months, have returned to their home in Gunnison. They arrived ar-rived in Gunnison last Saturday and were accompanied by Judge Parks, who had been in Salt Lake for a short business trip. i Local and Personal Ernest Halverson of Sugar City, Ida., is in Gunnison and will be the guest of relatives and friends for some time. Ronald Norman, of the J. C. Penney Compaey clerical forces, returned last : night from a month's vacation trip to Hurley, S. D. A. E. Porter, water commissioner for the lower Sevier river, returned last Monday from a brief business visit to Salt Lake City. Bert "Sheely" Newman and Silas Newman made a flying trip to Levan Tuesday, returning Wednesday. They flew in a "flivver" and not an airplane. air-plane. Mrs. Harold Dent and two children, chil-dren, and Miss Emma Christensen, of Salt Lake, are the guests at tho home of Mr .and Mrs. Nephi Gledhill for a couple of weeks. Mrs. George Fetterman, of Alham-bra, Alham-bra, Calif., who is visiting friends in the valley, was the guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Gribble the. i early days of the week. Miss Charlotte Edmonds, of Logan, Lo-gan, is the house guest of Mr. and Mrs. William Perkins. Miss Ed- munds expects to remain here for ten days or two weeks. The Johnny Rozell Jazz band has scheduled two dances to be held at the Peterson hall in Gunnison. The first dance is to be given Augusi 18 and the second on August 22. Hyrum Erickson, former Gunnison Gunni-son boy, is among the belated soldiers sol-diers to arrive home from France. Mr. Erickson came in the first of the week, just recently receiving his discharge dis-charge at Ft. Russell. Daunt Sanders was among the visitors vis-itors to the county seat Wednesday of this week. Mr. Sanders was in Manti arranging for entering the Gunnison baseball team in the contests con-tests that will be held during fair week. Mrs. George Francis departed for Brigham City last Monday morning, in answer to a message announcing the serious illness of her father. Christian Holt. Mrs. Francis was accompanied by her daughter. Miss LaFaun Francis. Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Johnson and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Collins, of Marys-vale, Marys-vale, stopped in Gunnison for a short visit to friends Tuesday morning of this week. The Johnsons and Collins were motoring to Salt Lake for a brief vacation and business trip. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Larson and children, and Mr. and Mrs. John Edwards, of Idaho Falls, and Mrs. Bertha Wilson and Mrs. Celia Wil-liams Wil-liams of Salt Lake City, comprised a party which stopped for a few hours at the home of Mr and Mrs. H.
