The, quarterly conference of th' South Sanpete stake which convened at Manti last Saturday for a two-day two-day session was largely at t elided and many went from Gunnison ami the valley. The principal speakers a! the Saturday and Sunday meeting-; were Joseph Fielding Smith of the Twelve Apostles and President B. H. Roberts of the Seventy. H. E. Larson is just recovering from several bad bruises and cuts he sustained recently as a result of a combat between himself and a fractious frac-tious colt. While leading the young i?nimnl to water the colt became unmanageable un-manageable and with the rope twjst- ed about his legs Mr. Larson was unable un-able to free himself. He was dragged drag-ged for some distance before the ro " became untangled and suffered i a severely sprained arm and bruises.
