Show CENTERFIELD. Jan. 31 A girl was born January &5th to the wife of Willard Jensen. Carl M. Anderson of this place and Mrs. Minnie Bergen of Salt Lake were married in the Mantl temple Jan. 19. The awful blizzard of yesterday drifted the snow into the cross streets filling them to Impassable depth for A the third time this month and ne-r ne-r cessitating the use of private grounds for public travel at several points, "Uncle Rube" was well played at the opera house here last night by a company from Axtell. Funeral services for young Everett Peterson, mention of whose.demise we gave last week, were held from the meetinghouse last Saturday afternoon, after-noon, attended by a large number of sympathizing friends of the bereaved parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Peterson. Peter-son. Among the numbers sang were: "I Know of a Beautiful City," by Miss Eva Jensen, and "Face to Face," by Miss Ida Peterson. The speakers were Brigham Jensen and Christian P, Larson. The speakers at ward meeting Sunday Sun-day were Junius S. Embley, Romaine Sorenson of Axtell bishopric and Mai-ben Mai-ben Thompson of Ephraim, . all of whom gave interesting missionary accounts. J. Alma Janson of Gunni-gon Gunni-gon lectured in the evening to -the Mutuals. . Funeral-was held from the meetinghouse meet-inghouse this Wednesday afternoon for Mads C. Peterson, who died Sunday Sun-day morning of senile debility and consumption, in his 82d year. Appropriate Appro-priate singing by the ward choir and others was rendered and remarks offered of-fered by Andrew Jensen, Jens Beck, C. H. Christianson and Bishop A. C. Fjeldsted. Interment was in the local lo-cal cemecery. Deceased had kept a diary since he was ten years old and on Friday last jvas his final entry, "I am not feeling very well today." He retired after partaking of the afternoon meal. On awaking he was somewhat restless and gradually grew worse uut.il uhe end. He was burn March 27, 1835, in Deumark, ihe son of Peter aud Anna Madsen. Was baptized J uly 22, 1854, and always been dutiful in the church. He married Maria Christiansen on December 29, 1S67, and came to Utah in September, 1883, first locating at Ojjden then, after a week, at Manti. Six years later he purchased a home i here at Centerfield and three years alter that removed to Riverton, Salt Lake county, where he resided most of the time until his removal back to Centerfield in 1910. Until recent years he followed the occupation of blacksmith. He is survived by bis wife, a son, John Peterson of St. Anthony, An-thony, Idaho, and three daughters, Mrs. Soren Anderson of Centerfield, Mrs. Lena Hendricksen of Mt. Pleasant, Pleas-ant, and Mrs. Beckstead of Soutli Jordan. All, excepting the latter, besides be-sides several other relatives from out ol tnwicaiue lo pay last respect to the departed. |
