Show Not Ashamed of Economy. Discussing England and the English from an American point of view, a recent re-cent American writer in England observes: ob-serves: "Nobody, from the king of England down, is either ashamed or afraid to be economical. Here a man or a woman is thought to be a fool or a vulgarian who is not careful of expenditure, while in America our waiters have been clever enough to make it appear that economy is mean, and as a nation we suffer accordingly. according-ly.
