Show ELECTION RESULT TOLDJNFIGURES WILSON RECEIVES GREATEST ELECTORAL VOTE IN HISTORY OF PRESIDENTIAL CONTESTS. Combined Popular Vote for Taft and Roosevelt is Over a Million Greater Than That Received by Successful Candidate. Wilson and Marshall will have 433 electoral votes as the result of the vote at the election on November 5. Colonel Roosevelt was second in the race and will have 90 electoral votes, while President Taft will be given the vote of Utah and Vermont, a total of 8. The figures show that the Democratic Demo-cratic candidates have the greatest electoral majority ever given at a presidential election. The returns iiaye 6a slow in coming in, but, the figures given are substantially correct. From latest returns it woub. appear that the successful candidates did not receive a majority' of all the votes cast. The figures show that Wilson received 6,362,702, as against 3,594,106 for Taft and 4,058,430 for Roosevelt. Total for Taft and Roosevelt of 7,653,-566, 7,653,-566, or a majority over Wilson of 1,-289,834. |
