Show FINISHING WELL. This is the time when in most places sohools are closing for the stftnmer vacation, and the "commencements" "com-mencements" of schools and colleges are a reminder that thousands of young people are being graduated to enter upon their life work. To many young people there comes the temptation in the last year of school to let up a little on their studies because of the feeling that as the end is bo near it does not matter. For more than one reason this is a mistaken idea. The last year's work should be a fitting crown of the work of previous years. Then, too, the last year in school is to be considered in its relation to the future. In most cases a young man passes from school to his life work. As the word ' commencement" indicates, in-dicates, his life is not closing when he haves school. It is really opening before be-fore him with all its possibilities, and if fullest success is to attend that life he' must be adequately equipped. Thi- means that the young petBon must finish well at school in order to commence well and continue well in the business or profession which he enters, It is not slipshod but thorough work that wins. |
