Show THE SCHOOL ELECTION. Monday was made lively in Gunnison Gun-nison by citizens interested in the public school cause. It was only a school m-etiug and an ordinary school election, but all the siitw took a lot of rustling for. There had been no pr6- i vious selection of candidates excepting at Centei tield, where A. C, Fjeldsted was dominated to succeed Biigham Jensen. No sooner was this apparent than certain ones took upon them selves the initiative to re-elect Mr. Jensen, and succeeded, there being 112 votes in his favor against 46 for Fjeldsted. Joseph ChriBtenwoii went in for another year and, with N C. Myrup holdiog over, the school board stands an before. The meeting, held j .1st before polling, poll-ing, was of quiet procedure. The yearly report wa3 accepted, stating receipts from all sources to have been $15,231.99. Of this amount there is left remaining, district funds to the amount of $1,998.58 and in the siuking fund 4895 03, a total balance jof $6,694.21. j There was voted a compensation of $160 to the board, for sericves. Attending school during the year had been 235 boys and 219 girls, this out of a total enumeration numbering 275 boys and 258 girls. |
