Show CAUGHT BY SNOWSLIDE. Four-horse Team Swept Into Canyon, But Driver Escaped. Park City, Utah. A snowslide came down Saturday afternoon about 2:30 o'clock near the Alliance tunnel, which killed three horses belonging to the Hale & Kopp company, contractors con-tractors for the hauling of coal and ore to and from the mines Here. A load of coal drawn by four horses was being driven to the Alliance mine by Ernest McCarrol, when one of the employes of that place saw the slide start and notified the driver, who at once jurrped from his load and ran, but before he had gotten very far the slide caught him and he was buried, save the half of one arm, which he used to good advantage- by shaking the same, and help was soon given him by the miners at the Daly-Judge. Daly-Judge. The loaded sleigh and the four horses were carried by the slide into the Daly-Judge canyon, a distance of about eighty fe-it, and but one horse was taken out alive. |
