Show GIRLS IN SOUTH PORTION OF STAKE LAND EVERY PRIZE BUT ONE. fcpbralm ana Gunnison Take Firsts. Writing from Maytleld, June 8. Miss Amy Lyman gives the news that a very splendid bread contest was held t Mantl on Saturday last. The prizes were awarded as follows: Seniors First, Pearl Jensen of Pphraim, $2.50; second, Ellle Bartholomew Bartholo-mew of Fayette, $1.50; third, Rilla Gee of Fayette, $1.00; fourth, Daisy Madsen of Gunnison, 50?. Juniors First, Etta Yepson of Gunnison, $2.50; second, LilaSwensen of Sterling, 51.50; third, Eva Jensen pf Axte'l, 81.00; fourth, Elolse Freckle-ton Freckle-ton of Sterling, $1.00. The money contributed for the prizes wa9 $3 by the Manti Commercial Commer-cial club, $1.50 by the Ladles Literary club of Mantl, $1.50 from the Manti school fund, $3 by the Ephraim City Council, $1 by Mayfleld town board, and 50 from Axtell. Tne program was carried out about as published last week. Miss Eva Christiansen of Mayfleld explained the purpose of the boys' and girls' clubs so well that many went away from the meeting feeling that this pew movement is one very worth while, and one that has come to stay and to grow and help the boys and girls to develop into useful men and women. . Few of our parents realize that in their own midst has started a move- inqiit of such splendid worth. |
