| Show arh C SCOUT BAND MAKING T boys are organized into patrols and are receiving special training weekly the president and board ot of directors 0 ot the brigham city boy scout band met at council chambers sunday afternoon at 4 to discuss matters pertaining to ta that organization the board consists UL 0 fred A ACU J holton president N C simonsen Sl vice president john B mathias Mat hlas see sec rotary treasurer E W watkins walking and C C members the scout band which was organized some time ago consists ot of between forty and fifty of the scouts of this city and the band Is under the able leadership of C Q C watkins the band has been divided into patrols tor for practice work theu there being from tive five to fifteen boys in each patrol the various sections of the band meet separately one hour each week tor for practice and all sections meet once a week tor for general practice at the meeting sunday the following patrol leaders were selected dwight wright cornet section erwin nelson clarinet section frank hick en looper alto section norman watkins trombone section howard johnson tenor bass and baritone sections lorenzo vance drum section members of 0 the board met with the city council last evening and urged the city officials to give the band its ita moral support and to get back ot of the band and help the boys along they also requested aid in securing a suitable practice room in which to meet for a new organization the Drig brigham barn city scout band is already becoming well and favorably known in northern utah and calls are coming in from other cities tor for its service the scout band will work in harmony with the brigham city military band and other band organizations and under the splendid training the boys are receiving good material will be developed from which to till fill the ranks or of the military band as last fast as vacancies occur |
