Show NOT A GOOD OUTLOOK. This would be a good time for the city authorities authori-ties to make an examination of Big Cottonwood. A gentleman who was there three days ago says there is scarcely any water at all in the creek. Is that the creek that the city is going to spend $1,-"00,000, $1,-"00,000, to say nothing of damage suits, to acquire? ac-quire? Again, suppose the city had acquired the water and put in the works a year ago, how much would it now be supplying those generous farmers in the valley of Utah Lake water under the measurement of June 15th? And if Cottonwood has lost its charm during the months of August and September, is It worth while to spend $1,000,000 upon it, unless some safe reservoir sitj can be secured where its flood water in the spring can be impounded? Is the time really passed when further investigation is necessary? |
