Show Chief Justice Fuller CHIEF JUSTICE FULLER died at his summer sum-mer home in Sorrenton, Maine, on Monday Mon-day morning last. Like John Adams and Thomas Jefferson he died on Independence day. He had been Chief Justice since his appointment by President Cleveland in 1888. He was born in Augusta, Maine, but went to Chicago in 1856, and it was in that city that he made his fame as a lawyer. He had a family of several daughters and his home life was beautiful, until the mighty sorrow of the death of his wife six years ago fell upon it. Mr. Hugh Wallace, formerly of this city, married one of the daughters. Justice Fuller was ijgtf a learned lawyer, a most eminent gentleman, and one of the foremost citizens of this country, an honor to his name and race.
