But frankly, H I h some of the things it says could not be said about Bill' people locally if the writer cared to reside in tho I ' f City B wt Town Talk is the next publication which does B 1 1 not care much what it says, but it does not handle B p its subjects so completely without gloves as does H . the other paper. B ft Tho Mirror used to be awfully spicy; it is yet; B jf m but now it is literary, and its personalities deal I II principally with national characters, rather than B lc people at home. M m Wi H w j When you read these papers, do you stop to H m fi think what you'd do if such thinga were written H m it at home? Red and Green were used entire- Hgjl W ly in tne Pretty decorations, American Beauties 1 if 1 1 and carnations being used effectively. About sixty M ) ! I guests were present. RH 'I ! i HL I a .YCol. and Mrs. E. F. Holmes entertained at an- B a I i ot'aer of thoir delightful dinners on Wednesday Hl I M evening. The decorations were in red, a mass of H 1 1 j red and white carnations being the centerpiece, tB m m with candelabra shaded in red on either side. A B!i m holly decoration was on the place cards, which Hffjl K were inserted in books bound in red. It was a B m W. pleasing innovation. Hi m t W. The ball given by the Council of Jewish Women on Thursday night at Christonsen's hall was the largest affair of the season, and a great social and financial success. An event of great interest locally was tho wedding wed-ding of Miss Anna Hatch and Mr. D. W. (Little Billy) McAllister of this city, which took place in lleber Wednesday evening. Both havo a largo circle of friends in this city to wish them all happiness. After an Eastern trip, they will return to this city, where they will be at homo after January 5th, at 233 G street. Mrs. T. W. Jennings entertained at a children's party fr little Dorothy Palmer on Monday afternoon. after-noon. About twenty-five cunning youngsters enjoyed en-joyed the event. Thirty-five guests enjoyed the charming luncheon lunch-eon at which Mrs. S. V. Shelp was hostess Wednesday Wednes-day afternoon. Mrs. Perry S. Heath has issued invitations for a luncheon to be given at the Knutsford Monday, December 15th. Miss Hammond, sister of John Hays Hammond, will visit Mrs. Clement during the holidays. Mr, Victor Clement has returned from Mexico. Mrs. Louise Smedley Smith has returned from tho East. Mr. and Mrs. James W. Neill and Miss Neill are at home at G9 North State street Captain Guy Palmer will be in the city during the holidays. Miss Edna Bailey has gone to New York. Mrs. D. C. Dunbar gave a dinner Tuesday evening. even-ing. Ten guests were present. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Noble will be here for the holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Shelp entertained at cards again on Wednesday evening. Mrs. A. J. Gustin of Kearney, Neb., is visiting her daughter, Mrs. Joel L. Priest. Mrs. Sylvester Johnson is visiting Mrs. Ralph Guthrie. Miss Dern entertained the Euchre club on Tuesday. Mrs. Joseph Oberndorfer will entertain at a card party on Monday for Mrs. Joseph Siegel of Butte. |
