Show The Tribune occasionally scouts at George Sutherland's senatorial aspirations on the ground that he is not a man of wealth. - That organ does not appear to get over the idea that the paramount para-mount qualification of a United States Senator .should be a large and affluent block of bonanza stock. The state has already been debauched by a senatorial barrel, and recent developments have shown that they do not care for a repetition of the deal. Mr. Sutherland's campaign has been decent, consistent and dignified, and a great deal of the disgrace of a couple of years ago would be wiped away to a degree at least by the selection selec-tion of Mr. Sutherland fbr the Senate. |
