Show Area Obituaries Keith M. Moore PANGUITCH Keith , Moxon Moore, 72, of ; Panguitch, passed away Nov. 1, 2001 in Panguitch. He was born May 14, 1929 in Henrieville, to George Dewey and Eliza Ann Moxon Moore. He married Sharon Stapley, Oct. 2, 1967 in Las Vegas, Nev. The marriage was solemnized Aug. 21, 1976 in the St. George LDS Temple. Keith was raised in Henrieville Henrie-ville and started school in Tropic. He attended the Deaf School in Ogden when he was 13 and soon returned to Garfield County. He worked for the Flying M -Oil Company for several years, "then he and his brother-in-law, ! Gary Orton became partners and ! owned and operated the company compa-ny for several more years. He ; retired from the oil company ;and was employed with the ; Garfield County Road Department. ; Keith loved his family and grandchildren and spending time with them. He especially '. enjoyed family gatherings. One !of his favorite pastimes was ; horse racing. ; He was a High Priest in the LDS Church and had served as branch . secretary at the Panguitch Lake Summer Branch. He is survived by his wife, Sharon of Panguitch; son, Darin Keith (Racheal) Moore of Idaho Falls, Ida.; grandchildren, Keith Casey, Brady Darin, and Brittney Ann Moore all of Idaho Falls; brothers and sisters: Billy Webb (Anita) Moore, Price; Kirk (LaVenda) Moore, Panguitch; Colleen (Gary) Orton, Panguitch; Elijah (Cindy) Moore of Phoenix, Ariz.; Ward (LaRae) Moore, Kanab; Birch (Kelley) Moore Santa Clara; and sister-in-law, Margene Moore of St. George. He is preceded in death by his parents; and brothers Harvey, Kerry, and Harold D. Moore. Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 5, 2001 at the Panguitch Ast LDS Ward. Presiding were Elder John W. Yardley, Area Authority Seventy, and Bishop Clark Howard. Officiating was Brother Than Cooper. The fami-.ly fami-.ly prayer was offered by Kirk . ; Moore, a brother: Prelude and postlude music was performed by Barbara Orton and Christine Littlefield and the invocation was offered HATCH Verda Priscilla Barney Sawyer, 90, of Hatch, passed away Nov. 5, 2001, in Panguitch, Utah. She was bom Apr. 28, 1911, in Spry, Utah, to Thomas Jefferson and Sarah Annie Riggs Barney. She married mar-ried Arnold Sawyer Nov. 22, 1934, in Junction, Utah. The marriage was solemnized June 22, 1963, in the St. George LDS - Temple. He preceded her in death July 22, 1983. . Verda enjoyed sewing, cooking cook-ing and sharing her work. Her family's favorite memories include dipping chocolates with grandma. She worked with her husband on the farm doing the irrigating and tending the crops. She was an active member in the LDS Church serving in Relief Society and Primary. She served as PTA president and helped with obtaining the school's piano and playground equipment. She is survived by her children chil-dren LaVal Arnold (Carla) Sawyer of Hatch; Vay B. (Valerie) Sawyer of Fredonia, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; one great-grandson; great-grandson; stepbrothers and sisters: sis-ters: Hartley (Ester) Barney, LaVerkin; Delma (Jack) McClean, Salt Lake City; Larry (Donna) Barney, Panguitch; Sheila (Dean) Richmond, Tooele; Olive Woodard; Shirley Webb; Lannon Barney, all of Eleh Thompson Shumway SALT LAKE CITY Eleh Thompson Shumway, 86, of Salt Lake City and formerly of Tropic, died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2001 in Salt Lake City. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8 in Henrieville. Keith Moore by Harold Orton, a nephew. A musical selection, "The Test" 'folio wed, by daughter-in-law Racheal Moore and nieces Deanna Moore and Camille Moore, accompanied by Pam Yardley. A tribute was given by Ward L. "Gabby" Moore, a brother,' followed by a western medley from the Cooper family. Nephew Gaylen Moore spoke next. Barbara Orton, accompanied accompa-nied by Christine Littlefield, played "In The Garden" on the violin. A tribute was offered by Colleen Moore, a sister. "I Am a Child of God" was performed by nieces, nephews and grandchildren, grand-children, accompanied by Pam Yardley. Remarks followed by Brother Than Cooper and by Elder John W. Yardley. The Cooper family sang "One More Day", then the benediction was offered by Kevin Moore, a nephew. Pallbearers included Darin Keith Moore, Bill Webb Moore, Kirk Moore, Elijah "Lige" Moore, Gary Orton, Ward L. "Gabby" Moore, William Birch Moore, and Nathan Cal Adams. Honorary pallbearers were Randy Moore, Ronald Webb, Gaylen Moore, Kevin Moore, Kevin Bangerter, Dwaine Orton, Than Cooper, David Orton, Harold Orton, Gregory Moore, Dustin Moore, Ryan Moore, Scot Moore, Tyler Moore, Wade Stoker, Champ More, Jack Yardley, Alan Yardley, Ray Patton and George Piatt. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Nov. 9, 2001 at noon m the Hatch LDS Ward Chapel where friends may call on Friday from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Hatch Cemetery.
