Garfield has opened a new Pain Management Clinic at it's facility in Panguitch, with physician referred appointments. Garfield Memorial Hospital Offers Southern Utah's Only Pain Management Clinic PANGUITCH Garfield Memorial Hospital and Clinics Administrator Eric Packer announced this week the formation forma-tion of a new concept in health care delivery with the establishment establish-ment of a Pain Management Clinic here in the southern Utah location. Grant Warnick, who came to this IHC facility as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist earlier this year had been checking check-ing into the possibility of setting up the much-needed practice at the hospital and clinic. In September, Warnick attended a three-day clinical meeting and training offered by the American Academy of Pain Management at Arlington, Va. Following the training he tested and was certified in practice in pain management treatment. Warnick will now add to the initials on his business card a CPP which stands for Certified Pain Practitioner. At this Pain Management Clinic, the only one of its kind in southern Utah, Warnick anticipates antici-pates treating chronic pain, insomnia, depression, anxiety, migraine headaches, etc. The process of delivery is through the use of an Alpha Stim 100 unit which delivers microcurrent stimulation, a low level, non-invasive electrical current delivered to the neck, back, knee or to any pain in any joint. The treatments reportedly have a cumulative effect and high degree of pain relief. Other invasive techniques offered at the clinic will include epidural steroid injections and trigger point injections. Potential patients will need to have direct referral from their local physicians to the Pain Management Clinic. Treatments will be by appointment appoint-ment and Warnick states he has already treated two patients this very first week with excellent results. Warnick is the only certified pain practitioner in southern Utah and expects to draw referrals refer-rals from many different communities com-munities as the word of this relatively rel-atively new treatment and' it's success spreads. |
