Show ', By Marlene Haws : 826-4859 While they were in town, Jason and Dawn Griffin also visited their parents Peggy Spencer and Lynn and Judy Griffin. Pat Woolsey Is ALL excited! She was chosen employee of the month at Cottam's Canyon Country Store and her prize is an all-expense-paid trip to Orlando, Fla. She will be taking her husband, Layne, with her and they will visit Disney World, the Epcot Center, etc. She just wishes she could get there and back without having to fly, but I'll bet she'll want to do it again after her first time! Deon and Arnold Alvey went to the doctor in Panguitch on Wednesday and to Cedar City Thursday to have the stitches taken out of Deon's knee. The doctor thought she was doing great. Cal and Martha Schow recently returned from a week-long week-long vacation trip. They went to r i n r i Beaver Dam, . between St. George and Mesquite, Nev., and joined up with Daryl and Mary Shumway, Mary's brother and sister in law, Mark and Cloey Bybee, (who live in Monroe in the summer), and Lewis and Jean Griffin. They traveled first to Yuma, Ariz., then went down into Los Algodones, Mex. (Martha said she didn't know where she had been until she read it on a brochure!). From there they went to San Diego, Calif., where they attended a session at the LDS Temple and on to Los Angeles, and also attended the temple there. Lewis and Jean stayed in San Diego to visit with friends they made while they were on a LDS mission there. Jean's brother and sister-in-law were also visiting visit-ing the area and they got to visit with them. Then Lewis had to have a little time out for some surgery. He must have been a good patient, I saw him at his home here yesterday ! The fundraising event for Donnie Randall brought with it some rewards for lucky winners of two quilts. Raylene Copeland (daughter of Postmaster Pat Gonder ... and Owen) and Jennifer Christensen were the lucky winners of a quilt each at the 17th of March party, which was held on Wednesday evening, Mar. 13. Kim Randall was in town and said Donnie was doing a little better. We send condolences to the family of LaPriel Spencer who passed away last week. LaPriel came here to live, from Cedar City, quite a number of years ago after she married Ushur Spencer. She was a lovely lady ' and will be missed by a lot of people. Carrie Griffin was excited ; last week to get new carpet in ; -; her living room and linoleum in ' " - her kitchen. Nothing boosts a . . woman's morale like something new for the house! |
