Show By Marlene M. Haws 826-4859 Jean Griffin is here with Lewis now for the summer. They live in Provo during the winter. Gene and Thais Griffin are also home from Mesa, Ariz., for the summer. Alan Shelley received word that his mom Nadine Shelley, Fairview, had spent a short time in the hospital hospi-tal following a heart attack. Nadine and her husband Ross moved away from Escalante just a few years ago. Hope she will be okay now. Our condolences to the family of Royal Alvey, Tropic, who passed away last week. Royal was a native son of Escalantg. LaRue Spencer accompanied Danny and Lois Spencer to Mes-quite, Mes-quite, Nev., for a visit. While she was there, she took a fall. It will take her a while to recover from all her black and blue marks. Danny and Lois Spencer had their daughter Audrey Marshall, Mesquite, Nev., here for a visit. Accompanying her were her children, chil-dren, Tabatha and son Jonathan, Robert, Nickol, Samantha Gibson and a friend, Kathy. Ardis Christensen and Jolene Phillips went to Lyman last week . to attend a birthday party for their aunt Lena Chappell who turned 85. Doyle and Thelma Cottam, Myron My-ron and Sannette Cottam, Brent and Patrice Cottam and Marlene Haws attended the LDS temple in St. George last week. Afterward, they visited with and took, a tour of the new home of Kent and Laura Cottam Cot-tam in Washington. Kent barbecued barbe-cued steaks and he and Laura hosted a lovely dinner for their guests. They all agreed that it was even better bet-ter than Chuck-A-Rama, which is the usual stopping off place for temple goers. Weekend visitors at the home of Melvin and Florence Alvey were Rick and Helen and Justine Pruitt, Richfield; Lucinda; Heidi, Caleb and Courtnie Duncan, Brittnie Larson Lar-son and Heidi's fiance, Frank Gil-more, Gil-more, all of Cedar City. Darlene Pierce had surgery last week, but is home again and on the road to recovery. Our condolences to the family of Maitland Spencer who passed away Friday night. Maitland had just celebrated his 90th birthday on Apr. 21. . |
