Show Area Obituaries Elaine French DeLong PANGUITCH - Elaine ' French -DeLong, 70, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 23, '2003 at Garfield Memorial Hospital. She passed away due to complications from pneumo-" pneumo-" nia and congestive heart failure after an extended stay in the " long term care facility at ' Garfield Memorial Hospital. Elaine was born on Sept. 13, ' 1933 in Kanab, Utah, to Charles Cecil and Norma Swapp French. ' Elaine was the second of five children. She married Albert William DeLong on Oct. 8, ij 1950, in Fredonia, Ariz. They 1 spent their married life living in ; ; Panguitch. ) ' Elaine worked as a waitress ; i at Orton's Grill, Country Corner '. and the Flying M. She also ; - worked as a dental assistant to i Dr. Wallace Lee. She was a very j hard worker and enjoyed being ' ! around people. She was a won-! won-! ; derful homemaker and cared ; deeply about her family and oth-J oth-J ' ers. Her rolls, piecrust and gravy I were a family favorite. J She is survived by her daugh-I daugh-I ter, Mary Ellen Butterworth; j ' three grandsons, R.C., Jacob and J Matthew; and three sisters, J Norma Folcomer, Marilyn Robert Perry Benfield PANGUITCH - Funeral services for Robert Perry Benfield, 75 who passed away v Oct. 18, 2003 in Panguitch were held at the Panguitch LDS 3rd Ward Chapel on Wednesday, ' ; Oct. 22, 2003. Bishop Wallace A. Lee officiated offici-ated over the services with compassionate com-passionate services rendered by the sisters of the Panguitch LDS ' 3rd Ward Relief Society. The family prayer was ' offered by wife, Grace Benfield ' prior to the opening of service. . " Prelude and postlude music was performed by Sherril Henrie with Rick Swanger offering the ; invocation. A musical selection "Brightly Beams Our Father's Mercy," ' was sung by the Panguitch 3rd Ward Men's Choir under the 'i direction of Cindy Coombs and " accompanied by Sherril Henrie. I 1 ' I i Elaine DeLong Rhodes and Harriet Stubbs. Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and her sister, LaRue. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 1, 2003, at 11 a.m. in the Panguitch 2nd Ward LDS Stake Center, 550 South 100 West. Friends may call at the Ward Chapel on Saturday after 10 a.m. Burial will be in the Panguitch Cemetery. Funeral directors: Neal S. Magleby & Sons Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Gunnison. A tribute followed given by son, G. Joseph Betar. The Panguitch Combined Ward Choirs then performed "Have I Done Any Good" under the direction of Barbara Orton and accompanied by Pam Robison. Bishop Wallace A Lee offered remarks followed by a final musical selection, "O My Father," a violin duet performed by Barbara Orton and Karran Harris. The benediction was given by Karen Swanger. Pallbearers were Alex Betar, Kent Betar, G. Joseph Betar, Rick Swanger, Wally Lee, Kim Soper and Wallie Henrie. Dedication of the grave was performed by Bishop Wallace A. Lee with interment in the Panguitch Cemetery under the direction of Neal S. Magleby and Sons Mortuary of Richfield, Salina, and Gunnison, Utah. |
