' A son was born to Jared and Michelle Higgs. Jared is our new Utah Highway Patrolman. Catherine Jensen Anderson and her three daughters, and a friend visited her father, Doug Jensen, and attended the blessing bless-ing of her great-nephew, Cairo , Houston. Lola C. Henrie went to Albuquerque to babysit the children chil-dren of David and Tiffany Henrie while he attends meetings meet-ings in Florida. Tiffany's mother, moth-er, Jolene Smith, flew to Florida to visit with Tiffany while David is busy. Dr. Kyle Tebbs of Tremonton visited with his mother, Delia Tebbs and brother, Blaine Tebbs. The former Misty Miller visited vis-ited with her parents, Ken and Randi Miller, and her sister and brother-in-law, Marnie and John Blevin. Romell Hepworth had back surgery. He is up and about now. Terry and Leola Henrie have returned from their LDS mission. mis-sion. Leola has had back surgery. sur-gery. They will go to Las Vegas to the home of their son, James, while she recuperates. Neucile Yardley, Mike, Margaret, Luke and Chelsea Tebbs, and Neucile Henrie attended the funeral in Pay son for Lloyd LeFevre, son of George and Anna LeFevre. Hilma Excell and other Excell relative went to Las Vegas where the family held an 80th birthday party for Alta Hancock Excell. Alta and husband hus-band Don are Panguitch natives who now live in Humbolt, Ariz. We hope they have many more good years. Christine Littlefield went to Quartzite, Ariz, to visit with Jake and Peggy Bagnell. They will all spend some time in Mexico. Native Stewart LeFevre was here last weekend from the north. He was so happy to see the blue sky. He said that where he lives the sky is always milky. He is always glad to get south of Nephi where he can see the sagebrush fields, then he knows he is in home country. In the Panguitch LDS Second Ward, Elder Jason Porter reported report-ed on his San Antonio, Texas Spanish-speaking mission. ' Jason is a son of Wally and Natalie Veater. He gave a fine report. Youth speakers were Jenna Sawyer, daughter of Arlin and Connie Sawyer, and Zac Orton, son of David and Marianne Orton. They did a good job. The Panguitch LDS wards held a special fast for moisture. We need more snow desperate- iy. The scout banquet held recently was very successful. The high school debate team took first place in the Region. Several members will go to state. The Shawn Parkin home south of the KOA is enclosed and John Talbot and Dave Dodds, with Dodds and Talbot Construction are putting the windows in. Steven and Susan Talbot and sons Scott and Bryce stopped overnight at mom Mamie's on their way home to Escondido, Calif, from Salt Lake City. The visit was too short but they did have time to go to Red Canyon and slide down the north side of the snow covered hills. This was the only thing Bryce wanted want-ed to do, slide in the snow. The family had been to Provo to see their three BYU students and attend one of daughter, Amanda'a musical programs. They visited with Susan's parents par-ents in Salt Lake City and Justin and Eric went to one Olympic event. Marjorie Davies wrote to let us know that she and Calvin and other Panguitchites around Surprise, Ariz, are collecting lots of books for the Panguitch summer book sale and other things for the Hospital Thrift Shop sale. Come home soon, friends. Michelle Morgan and Cade Crofts will be married March 16. A reception will he held that night. Michelle's parents are Gary Dempsey and Patty Morgan. Her grandparents here are Boyd and Renee Owens. Cade's parents are Richard and Marianne Crofts. His grandpar ents here are Steele and Ireta Henrie. Cade is building a nice home next to the Henries. Ryan and Tammy Houston have a new baby boy. He has a big sister and brother to welcome wel-come him. Grandparents here are Grant and Gloria Houston. In the Panguitch LDS Fourth Ward, Elder Jason Porter reported report-ed his Texas mission. Laurel Holman spoke, representing the High Council, and the youth speaker was Cody Bremner. Michelle H. Maxwell was called to teach in the Primary. Nancy Houston was called to teach Sunday School. Kristin Gleave, wife of Terry Gleave, was baptized bap-tized a member of the church. Hilda Gardner and Jay Proctor are home from hospital stays for pneumonia. Adele Worthen broke her shoulder and then developed pneumonia. She is still in the hospital. Speakers in the LDS Third Ward were returned missionaries missionar-ies David Klein and sister, Jane Klein. David served in the Canary Islands and Janae served in Toronto, Canada. Brittany Frandsen, daughter of Kevin and Debbie Frandsen, was the youth speaker. The choir sang a special arrangement of "I Need Thee Every Hour." Those folks who perform volunteer services for older people peo-ple in town such as house cleaning, clean-ing, quilting, personal care, yard work, etc. should call a report into the Senior Citizen Center here. It is then sent into the senior sen-ior citizen state office to .show the volunteering that is being done. We have a great deal of volunteer services here and it is highly appreciated. Thank you friends and neighbors for this service. This does not mean organized church service projects proj-ects by Young Men and Young Women's groups. Kyle and Cindy Stewart have bought and are clearing the land west of the junction of Hwy. 89 and the second cross country lane north of Panguitch. They will put a sprinkler system there and plant it. Betty Frandsen is home from the hospital where she has had pneumonia and other complications. complica-tions. She said so many people have helped her there and at home. She is so grateful for all that folks have done. |
