Show r- ,--- I I; I By Mamie Talbot 679-8084 The first week in February was warm and beautiful with ducks on the river, robins in the trees, men working on building projects and folks walking more outside. Haley Black, daughter of Chad and Michelle Black was baptized and confirmed a member of the LDS church on Feb. 1, then the family left the next day for their new home in Elko, Nev. Juanita Talbot is home after spending a month up north with her children and families. Irene Cooper had minor surgery in Cedar City. She is doing well. The fifth graders from Panguitch Elementary School spent a day in Cedar City seeing the Iron Mission State Park and going bowling. Karl Lowder of Hatch is a new resident at the Garfield Care Center. An adult LDS Seminary class is being started. Anyone wishing to join can learn more about it through their ward bishoprics. The Panguitch High School Bobettes Drill Team won the state championship. Dusty Orton, son of Denny and Jean Orton, has received an LDS mission call to Tucson, Ariz. Jeremiah Boger and Trudi Owens were called to teach in the Panguitch LDS 2nd Ward Sunday School. Andrea Guillette was called as the Home Enrichment counselor in the Relief Society. Little Stahlie Singleton was blessed with her name and father's blessing by dad Phil Singleton. The Single ton and Shirley grandparents and many family members and friends were present for the occasion. In the Panguitch LDS 4th Ward, Evelyn Black was released as ward public affairs director and Darcy Osborn was sustained to that position. posi-tion. Jared Black was called as the ward financial clerk. Jeanette Williams Wil-liams was called as a nursery worker. Trichelle Armstrong, daughter of Tracy and Lynne Armstrong Arm-strong was baptized. The Pink Ladies are making crib quilts for the hospital's gift cart. Teresa Hatch, daughter of Randy and Debbie Hatch, has announced her engagement and intention to be married in July. Now, if we only knew the intended groom's name! More later. Panguitch native Meladean Talbot Tal-bot Carter underwent surgery for cancer in St. George. She will now have chemotherapy treatments. She is a daughter of the late Archie and Freda Talbot. Our love and prayers go with her. Doug and Darlene Evans were lucky to be home when a water pipe broke in their basement. Solid walls are being installed on Richard Croft's storage sheds. Windows and outside doorways of , Art Cooper's house are in place so the contractors can work inside protected pro-tected from the cold winds. The Panguitch LDS 2nd Ward will hold its Scout Banquet on Feb. 20. John and Gayleen Burdick spent a week in Quartzite, Ariz. We should know the name of the multi-events center around Feb. 15. That building certainly looks big! |
