Show Garkane Power Upgrades Lines Garkane Power Association recently completed a major upgrade up-grade to its main feeder line between be-tween Orderville and Hatch. The project involved switching out transformers, insulators, and installing in-stalling several new steps transformer trans-former banks in order for the existing ex-isting lines to nearly triple their voltage capacity. The new improvements provide pro-vide not only increased capacity, but also reduce line losses, saving all Garkane consumers money. Another byproduct of the improvements im-provements is the ability to isolate iso-late power outages to smaller areas and to locate problems more quickly. Intermittent outages over a period pe-riod of three days were necessary to complete the project. Crews and equipment from each of Garkane's three district offices assisted in the project. "Reliable service is our top priority," Garkane General Manager Man-ager Carl Albrecht stated. "It's a never-ending process. Garkane's service territory encompasses over 16,000 square miles." |
