Show 46 Residents Sign Up As Municipal Candidates PANGUITCH With the close of city business on Friday, some interesting lineups of candidates candi-dates surfaced for upcoming November No-vember municipal elections. In Panguitch, a sole candidate, candi-date, Jon Lee Torgerson has filed for the mayor's spot. Three people, peo-ple, Terry Andrews, John W. Houston and Craig M. Twitchell, have filed for an open two-year city council position. Four have also filed for two four-year council coun-cil seats, Rick Swanger, Mack Oetting, Dennis C. (Denny) Orton and Steve Hatch. In Escalante, initially Sandie L. Hitchcock and Patricia A Murphy were the only two candidates candi-dates for the four-year term for mayor. However, by week's end former council member Howard Miller had also entered the race. Filing for the vacant two-year council position was Elizabeth (Beth) Christensen and for two vacant four-year council terms were Chris A. Christensen, Richard Rich-ard Costigan and Lennie Don Porter. Tropic announced candidates for mayor as incumbent Jean Seiler, Steven Winters and current cur-rent council member Gaya Greenhalgh. A single candidate, Reed LeFevre, also currently serving on the council, has filed for one of two vacant four-year council positions. Robert Bradley withdrew his candidaacy for health reasons. Cannonville has announced two vying for the mayoral opening, open-ing, Joe Thompson and Albert E Stone. Four residents have filed for two four-year council positions, posi-tions, Anna D. Dunham, Tom Shakespeare, John Morreale and Joseph Hughes. Three people, Charlotte Matthews, George A Thompson and Mark Nelson are vying for one two-year council position which will necessitate a primary election for the town. In Henrieville, Guy Thompson has filed for the four-year city council term. No other candidates candi-dates have filed for the mayoral position or council positions. In Boulder, Keith Gailey and Larry Riplinger have filed for the mayor's post. Farlan Behunin, Mark Austin, Kevin Eastman and Gladys LeFevre filed for the four-year four-year council positions being vacated va-cated and Leo Gardner, Robert Brems and Kristina Karlsson have filed for the two-year positions. Hatch Town had two individuals individu-als file for the position of mayor, incumbent LaVal Sawyer and Nile Rick Sawyer. Three persons will also vie for two four-year council positions opening up, Scott Walter, Michael Savage and Carla Sawyer. In Antimony William A Wiley is the only person who filed for the mayoral position and Tim Westwood and Arthur (Leon) Twithcell have each filed for council positions. |
