Show Tropic Ngws By Louise Ott 679-8776 Can anyone believe how fast the time is flying by? It has been five years since Lonnie Pollock, was sustained as the LDS bishop of the Tropic Ward, with Fred Syrett and Layne LeFevre as his counselors; they were released and the new Bishopric was sustained sus-tained on Sujiday, July 6. Scott Barton is our new bishop, Blaine Anderson as first counselor, and second counselor is Gayle Lynn Pollock. Visiting with Viva Mecham was the Arnold Smith family. They use to live here. Dwayne and JoAnn Harkelroad are visiting in town and are in hopes of building and moving back here for good. JoAnn says she has retired three times. Dee and Dorothy McCellan and family from Bountiful have their trailer set up by Dixie Shakespear's visiting. Dar and Helen Smith from St. George visited Earl and Rachel Jolley. There were a lot of reunions held during the month of July. Sheila and Clayton Harper from Duchenne were here for Sheila's class reunion. Bybee Campbell was here for his class reunion, as was Mark Bybee, and Shawn and Karen Bybee from Pocatello, Ida. They all visited Clive and Thelma Bybee. By-bee. The Boy Scout troop 380 from Lakewood, Colo., with three adults and 12 scouts, came here to hike Bryce Canyon and see former scout master Gayle Lynn Pollock. Gayle took them on a hike one day around the area. Lou Ann and Max Campbell visited with DelRae and Afton Pollock. Lou Ann and DelRae are sisters. Brenda Shakespear, daughter of Clare and Mary Lee Ramsay, is out of the hospital and doing great, she had a few complications complica-tions after the birth of her daughter. daugh-ter. Visitors at the Kent and Betty Wintch home over the 4th of July holiday were grandson Randall Kent Spencer, wife Alice and son Benjamin from Provo. Visiting with Eva and Larvin Pollock was EVa's sister Dorothy and husband Lowell Mecham from Salt Lake City. Marion and Jack Gull from West Valley and sons Ryan, Matt and Jake, also visited, as well as daughters Amy and Jackie and two sons; Cami and Curtis Porter and three sons; and another son Jamie, wife Alana and daughter - nineteen in all. Also on the fourth of Jul.y a couple Eva and Larvin had met on trip they had been on stopped on their way through to Hole-in-the-Rock - Jean and Rod Lyman from Tooele his brother and wife from Fayette. Sara Littlefield rode over to Panguitch with Ora Brinkerhoff to take care of some business. Royal and Rella Alvey were in Cedar City for a doctors appointment. ap-pointment. The doctor was really pleased with Royal's progress. Glenna Pollock was in Fre-donia, Fre-donia, Ariz, visiting daughter Hazel Ha-zel Sanders, and had a follow up visit with her doctor. Visiting with Glenna and Adrain Pollock were daughter Darlene and hus'uand Grant Le-Fevre, Le-Fevre, their two daughters, and two grandchildren. They are all from Bountiful. The Claud Sudweeks family held their reunion at Pine Lake. Allen and Carlene Sudweeks and some of their family from Layton attended, also all of DeRel and Sarah Lou Sudweeks children came for it. Sarah Lou reports that there were 64 in attendance. Kris and Tim Feltner and children chil-dren have returned from a great vacation visiting Kris' mother in Maryland. Fred Hall visited his daughter Marie Niemann over the forth holiday. I |
