Show ami mnrnm- Mayo Udell Rich PANGUITCH Mayo Udell Rich, 75, of Panguitch passed away Jan. 19, 1998 in Las Vegas, Nev. He was born Oct. 8, 1922, in Monroe Mon-roe to Martin and Delphia Arminda Hardy Rich. He married Mary Steed, Sept. 9, 1946, in Monroe. The marriage was later solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple. She preceded him in death May 26, 1986. Mayo married Hazel Worthen Houston, Sept. 2, 1988 in the St. George LDS Temple. Mayo attended Branch Agricultural Agricul-tural College in Cedar City, Southwest Louisiana Institute and the University of Utah. He taught school in Murray, Valley and Bryce Valley High School, retiring after 28 years. He worked as a seasonal park ranger at Bryce Canyon National Park for seven years. He served on the Bryce Canyon Natural History Association As-sociation Board of Directors for more than 25 years. He also served on the Garfield County Travel Council and the Garfield County Planning and Zoning Committee. He was a member of the Bryce Valley Val-ley Lions Club for several years and enjoyed square dancing, calling square and round dances and attended many asilomars over the years. Mayo was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in the Family History program and as a Gospel Doctrine teacher. He held the office of High Priest. He is survived by his wife Hazel, Ha-zel, Panguitch; children Kristie and Carl Burger, Vancouver, Wash.; Randi and Kenneth Miller, Pan- i r r i V : t. Mayo Rich guitch; Martin and Ethel Rich, Bryce Canyon; Mary Jo and Blake Gillies, Beaver; 19 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by wife Mary; brother Val Rich and parents. Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 23 at 1 p.m. in the Tropic LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the Panguitch 2nd and 3rd Ward Chapel (200 N. 400 E.) Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and at the ward chapel in Tropic from 1 1 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Burial will be with Military Rites by the Bryce Valley American Legion Post 18 in the Tropic Cemetery. Funeral Directors Neal S. Magleby & Sons Mortuary, Richfield. Lawrence J. "Jay" Talbot PANGUITCH Lawrence J. "Jay" Talbot, 80, of Panguitch died Jan. 15, 1998 in Panguitch. He was born Apr. 4, 1917 to John Taylor and Celeste Orton Talbot. He married Remona Bee be Jan. 4, 1938 in Junction. The marriage was solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple Mar. 21, 1952. She preceded him in death Apr. 7, 1959. He married Juanita Alfaro Dob-son Dob-son Feb. 5, 1960 in the St. George LDS Temple. He was a veteran of WWII, having served in the Army. He was a carpenter in Panguitch and built many homes there. He loved to hunt and fish. He was a member of the LDS Church. He is survived by his wife, Juanita, of Panguitch; two daughters daugh-ters and three sons: Janice T. Hatch of Panguitch; Larry J. (Crystal) Talbot of Salt Lake City; Thomas Henry (Stephanie) Talbot of Kanar-raville; Kanar-raville; Roger Keith (Yvonne) Talbot Tal-bot of Moab; Linda Fae (Tony) Wright of Kanab; step-daughter Marveline (Bill) Colby of Price; step-son Thomas R. (Carla) Dob-son Dob-son of Layton; 29 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; sister Hilma Excell of Panguitch; brothers Thomas Tho-mas Orton Talbot of Panguitch; Walter Devaur (Dorleen) Talbot of American Fork. He is preceded in death by parents; par-ents; wife, Remona; son, Daniel Beebe Talbot; grandsons Steven James Hatch and Anthony J. Hatch; son-in-law James H. "Tink" Hatch. Funeral services were held on Monday, Jan. 19 at the Panguitch 2nd Ward LDS Chapel, with Bishop Kenneth Miller officiating. The family prayer was offered by Thomas H. Talbot and prelude and postlude music was played by Barbara Heaton and Barbara Orton. The invocation was given by Larry J. Talbot and the combined ward choirs sang "Abide With Me 'Tis Eventide, " directed by Marilyn Bulkley and accompanied by Fawn Guillette. Walter D. Talbot gave a tribute Jay Talbot and Tracy Smith, Arlene Talbot and Joan Lytn sang "That Silver Haired Daddy Of Mine," accompanied by Pam Yardley. Remarks were made by Bishop Kenneth R. Miller and the choir and congregation sang "God Be With You 'Till We Meet Again," directed by Marilyn Bulk-ley Bulk-ley and accompanied by Fawn Guillette. Guil-lette. The benediction was given by Roger K. Talbot. Pallbearers were Bishop Tony Wright, Larry J. Talbot, Thomas H. Talbot, Roger K. Talbot, Walter D. Talbot, and Thomas O. Talbot. Honorary pallbearers were Scott L. Talbot, Curtis J. Talbot, Jason T. Wright, Joe B. Wright, John J. Dobson, Michael F. Dob-son, Dob-son, Rodney Colby, Brent Colby, Mike Snider, Hank Moss, Mare Peay, Chris Robinson, and Sid Smith. Flower girls were granddaughters. grand-daughters. Burial was in the Panguitch Cemetery with Military Rites by the Panguitch American Legion Post 25. Compassionate services were rendered by the Panguitch 2nd Ward Relief Society sisters. Funeral directors Neal S. Magleby Ma-gleby & Sons Mortuary, Richfield. Leland "Bud" Chynoweth Leland Harvey "Bud" Chynoweth died Jan. 12, 1998 in Chitumal, Mexico. He was bom on May 8, 1917 to Harvey and Roxie Chynoweth in Henrieville, Utah. He married Thelma Ray and served his country during World War II. He is survived by wife Thelma and their children: Glen, Victor and Rena; brothers and sisters: Lula Moore, Jack Chynoweth, Gene Chynoweth, Ralph Chynoweth, Katie Morton, and Roxanna Johnson; John-son; many grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.. great-grandchildren.. He is preceded in death by children chil-dren Jerry, Lorna, Mark and Duane; brothers and sisters Nelda Jolley, Lois Blackwell and Wade Chynoweth. Burial will be in Mexico. |
