Jared, son of Sloan and Veralynn Vera-lynn had to be taken, by ambulance, ambu-lance, to Provo for surgery. It was thought at first that he had appendicitis, appendi-citis, but it turned out to be more serious. He is back home now and recovering nicely. Kathryn Coleman went to St. George for surgery on her thumb. I suppose she let Frank go with her. She will be wearing a cast for six weeks, so if you see her with her thumb in the air it doesn't necessarily necessar-ily mean she is agreeing with the whole world! Ron, Linda and Randy Mecham came from Las Vegas, Nev. to visit Fontella Mecham, who is still in the hospital in Panguitch. Bonnie Schulkoski came from Eureka, So. Dak. to spend two weeks with her son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Vickie Schulkoski and her grandkids. Son Ryan is getting married this month to Joy Youngberg of Palm Bay, Florida and Shirley is working at the Family History Center, so right now their lives are pretty full. They enjoyed a short program and refreshments re-freshments were served afterward. Flora Leibenguth and Melvin Alvey share a common birthdate. Flora will be 80 on Jan. 20 and Melvin will be 90 years young. He would probably try a waltz at the Gold and Green Ball, if they were still being held! Wallace Woolsey has a birthday on that same day and so do two of Jed and Garneal Smith's children, Dane and Vida, three years apart. Other birthdays this month are Clem Griffin and Yukon Norman on the 24th, Nelda Munson on the 26th and Arden Taylor on the 27th. You may want to wish them a "Happy Birthday" when and if you see them. Garneal Smith says her children, Dee and Vida Frost are moving back from Idaho to LaSal. Maybe we will get to see them more often.
