Show By Mamie Talbot 676-8084 Great to see many former home-towners home-towners here for the Pioneer Day holiday. The high school class of 1949 was on a big float. Members of Norma Talbot's family, who were attending a reunion, reun-ion, filled a long trailer on son-in-law Kay Bundy's big truck, and many other folks helped to make the parade, DUP program, children's activities and the rodeos a great success. The funniest sight of the parade was Justin Reeve, son of Brad and Sharlee Reeve, riding a saddled cow, led by dad. Faye Worthen reports that her nephew, Joshua Smith of Po-catello, Po-catello, Ida., won the bull riding championship at the rodeo. He received a beautiful saddle. His folks are wondering what he's going to do with the saddle. Maybe ride a cow? Those who were here visiting Faye were Bob and Twila Patterson from California, Troy and Janee Neilson and two daughters, Kira and Sharena, of Fredonia, Ariz, and Faye's brother Kay and Ora Smith of Pocatello, Ida. Tim and Fayann Worthen Chris-tensen Chris-tensen were here, also. They have sold their home in Phoenix, Ariz., and have a home in Kanab. Mom Faye is very happy to have them closer to her. . Son Jim Worthen and Bob Patterson are shingling the family cabin at Panguitch Lake. The Leland and Michelle Pollock Pol-lock family were sealed in the Manti LDS Temple. Mamie Talbot's granddaughter, Shannon Talbot, and Anthony Beats Schmid of Beaver will be married in the Las Vegas LDS Temple on Aug. 6 with a reception planned for Aug. 14 at the Alan Talbot home in Enoch. Speakers in Panguitch 2nd LDS Ward Sacrament meeting were Tom, Travis and Ryan Hatch. Youth speakers were Jordan Jolley, Quinton Hatch and Ty Mullenaux. Songs were sung by Jacee Jolley, Brenna Jolley, Kennedy Mullenaux and Maegin Hatch. Many members and friends of the Howard Hatch family were here for the holidays. Sheila Orton was called as a nursery teacher. Austin Orton, son of Kelly Orton, was ordained a deacon. In 4th Ward meeting, the youth speakers were Jeff Mack and Justin Armstrong. Returned missionaries Sister Patricia Howard and- Elder Bryan Boshell reported their missions. In the 3rd LDS Ward meeting, speakers were Pauline and Merle Prince. Their daughter, Paula Curtis, Cur-tis, gave a musical number. Tiffany Tif-fany Hulet was the youth speaker. A large crowd enjoyed the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers program with native Dr. John N. Henrie reminiscing about early Panguitch history. Mom Mary Henrie and family were glad to see John and his wife, who have recently re-cently been in China. Sally Cooper's Coo-per's magnificent voice brought tears as she sang of the pioneers, "When they're gone do not forget them and the trials they went through. They have made the desert blossom like a rose for me and you." Thank you, Pioneers. Lamar Nay has been here with his parents, Junior and Karen Nay. The "looks like brick" covering of the middle school is nearly complete. com-plete. Looks good. Ingra Richards grandson Jeff Richards and his family here with her. He is Kay and Ann Richard's son. Cleo and Monte Marshall have had granddaughter Marianne and family here. She is Mary Lou Marshall Pearson's daughter. Don Sandberg and family were here visiting with his parents, Rex and Grace Sandberg. Natives Maxine and Doug Haws were at Panguitch Lake. Deanna and Allen Worthen were here and plan to spend most of the summer. . Mary Zane Davis came home to visit and help care for her aunt Kate Church. . Judy and John M. Henrie have had several happenings in their family. fam-ily. Daughter Lori's twin boys were baptized and Lori has a new baby girl. Judy attended the wedding wed-ding of her sister Natalie's daughter in St. George. Marie Liston went on a tour to Nauvoo, 111. and other historic sites. Anna Rae Manor, Jacque Beth Hunt and Clifford Hatch have been with their mother Orva Frandsen. She spent some time in the local hospital but is home now and doing better. Work on the city streets on the north end of town has started. The south end looks great. |
