Show Plans Underway For Fund Raisers PANGUITCH Members of the board of the Garfield Memorial Hospital Foundation held their monthly planning meeting Monday, Mon-day, Apr. 13 with President LaMar LeFevre and all board members present. The items will be saved to stock a planned fundraising booth at this year's Garfield County Fair. It is hoped that many additional items will be donated throughout the county prior to that event. LeFevre added that he and his wife Ethel were donating an assortment as-sortment of handmade afghans to be used for residents of the Long Term Care Facility as needed. LeFevre discussed an article he clipped from a newspaper which outlined funds available to nonprofit non-profit groups for vans, buses and support equipment through the Utah Department of Transportation. LeFevre said he will look into this for a future resource. A treasurer's report included moneys recently collected on cookbooks cook-books being sold in various communities com-munities and tickets sold at Zions Bank on a donated quilt. The quilt, donated by the Ladies of Boulder has been progressing slowly so was moved for display at Ruby's Inn to see if additional sales could be generated. gen-erated. The full-size plum and blue colored quilt is being displayed just off the lobby at Ruby's Inn and will be monitored to see how sales proceed and a new drawing date will then be set. Additional discussion addressed the largest fund-raiser event each year, the Annual Dinner set for Sept. 25. Other fundraising events slate are a Homemade Spaghetti Dinner July 24 in Escalante and multiple ideas for a parade, soft drink sale", cookbook sale and quilt sales for July 4 in Boulder. Members of the New Beginning Baptist Church in Panguitch will again hold their chili and bake sale event and hope to expand the range this year to canned jellies, sauces, salsas and candy. Nancy Twitchell brought samples sam-ples of 100-hr. emergency candles and auto emergency kits that will be sold in the Bryce Valley area in June and July for additional fund-raising fund-raising in that area. |
