Show Crycc Canyon l!:v:; By Marta Peterson 834-5306 The warm weather has been enjoyed en-joyed by most Bryce visitors except those that traveled to the park to put on their skis and spend a few hours touring the area while cross country skiing. The snow accumulation accumu-lation is down to 21 inches. The snow conditions are icy in the morning and mushy by afternoon. If the weather continues to be warm, it will be time to but on a pair of boots and hike the trails. Dan Ng spent his days off at Echo Bay in Lake Mead visiting with Bob and Floria Jones. They spent a summer volunteering their time at Bryce two years ago. It was a fortuitous summer because Bob and Floria met, fell in love and got married soon after with Mount Rushmore as their backdrop. Dan Foster is back to work after af-ter a bout with a stomach ulcer. His quirky humor has returned so he is definitely feeling better. Colleen DiMaria from the Rocky Mountain Regional Office in Denver is spending a week at Bryce training Robyn Burch and Alison Wright in special administrative adminis-trative personnel issues. Bob and Jan Schroeder, the new winter keepers at Bryce Canyon, have arrived to begin their new job. They will be living at the park year around to handle a myriad of maintenance main-tenance concerns. Conrad Humphrey and his family fam-ily have moved into park housing while they continue to look for a house in one of the surrounding communities. Conrad is a permanent perma-nent employee in the maintenance division. We are fortunate to have them on board. All the boys are looking forward to the Klondike Derby held this Saturday at Bryce Canyon. Glider I, the Klondike sleigh was on display at the court of honor. The scout committee was also selected with Steven Fischer as the chairman, Truman Lyman as outdoor specialist, Kevin Eastman as transportation specialist, David Heaton as financial specialist, and Helen Lyman as advancement specialist |
