Show Mrs. Utah Addresses Panguitch BPW Group Members of the Panguitch Chapter of the Business and Professional Women met Sept. 20 at the Senior Citizens Center to hear Mrs. Utah 1989-90 Lisa Stevens of Brian Head. Stevens discussed moderating goals to conform with abilities while stressing the quality of life. She urged women to endeavor to retain their femininity even though they should feel comfortable in participating in more activities traditionally tra-ditionally considered only for men. She will compete in the Mrs. America finals in Hawaii in December. Local BPW members are planning plan-ning a bake sale just prior to the deer hunt as a fund raising activity, with members asked to donate $5 or baked goods for the sale. This year's local president is Judy Henrie; president elect, Karren Harris; vice president, Leeann Moscr; corresponding secretary, Pam Robison; recording secretary, Avoncll Tebbs; treasurer, Laura Ju-landcr; Ju-landcr; publicity chairman, Patty Coon; scholarship chairman, Patty Heaton; and fund raising chairman Diane Houston. The group encourages others to join with them, said Coon, noting that the BPW attempts to elevate the standards for women in business and the professions, to promote the interests of business and professional profes-sional women and to bring about a spirit of cooperation among them It also attempts to extend opportunities opportu-nities to business and professional women through education, alone the lines of industrial, scientific and vocational activities. The group meets the third Wednesday of each month. |
