Show County Vehicles Sold During Bid Opening Subject to approval by the Garfield County Ambulance Board, a bid of $500 by Tom Simkins bought a 1972 Ford van. A bid of $701.50 bought a 1972 Chevrolet van for George Fields. Fields was also the winning bidder on a 1975 Ford Modular at $550.50 The commissioners have recommended rec-ommended signing and flashers at the gravel guards at Cameron Wash, just north of Highway 12 on the Johns Valley Road, because seven head of cattle were hit on the road this summer. Garfield County commissioners have offered Mike Gottfrcdson $100 per acre for 350 acres of property on the Tom Best Springs Road near Johns Valley Road to be used for a trash dump site. Commissioners report the Antimony An-timony Bridge repairs complete. The county has agreed to help Tropic repair the street lcadine to the county road shed. Lincoln Lyman Construction Company installed a culvert at Pet Hollow in the Alvcy Wash Special Service District. Commissioner Louise Liston and County Road Supervisor Ron Greenhalgh reported re-ported that it was a good job. In a commissioner's meeting on August 21, Board of Equalization dates were set for Sept. 18-19. A budget hearing has been set for December 18, 1989. A Horizon House Chemical Residential Treatment Center is to be built, and the Board of Commissioners of Five Counties and the Southwest Utah Mental HealthAlcohol & Drug Center will all support the activity. A budget resolution was signed that created an improvement fund with a cash balance of $879,023. Due to an emergency the county courthouse complex has installed two 1,500 gallon septic tanks with a 300-foot four-inch leech-line. Commissioners issued a business busi-ness license to Ronald Berry, Tropic, Trop-ic, to open a business to be known as Tropic Shop Works. |
