Show By Marta Peterson The Rocky Mountain Regional Director of the National Park Service, Ser-vice, Lorraine Mintzmyer, visited Bryce Canyon National Park last week. A potluck picnic was held at the housing picnic area in her honor. A number of the Bryce Canyon employees traveled to Zion National Nation-al Park to participate in Superintendent Superin-tendent Hairy Grafe's retirement party. The interagency fire camp at Tropic Reservoir was well attended and quite successful. The participants partici-pants need the skills acquired at the camp in order to safely fight wild-land wild-land fires. Two BCNP families have accep ted transfers to new park areas. Bob Vogel and his wife Janice will be relocating to Allegheny Portage Railroad National Historic Site in Pennsylvania. Ray and Lanore Walker are moving to Death Valley National Monument in California. Bryce Canyon's new Superintendent Superin-tendent is Fred Fagergren, currently Superintendent at Big Cypress National Na-tional Preserve in Florida. The Fagergren family will be on the move in August. Dick and Marge Rogers of Columbia, Calif, have returned to Bryce Canyon for a stint of volunteering volun-teering for the Interpretive Division. Divi-sion. Dick retired from teaching at the college level and the National Park Service and Marge was an elementary school teacher. |
