Marie Didl 1 NOTICE 1 To the Users of the Panguitch City Landfill By direction from the Environmental Protection Agency, 40 CFR J 257 and 258, dated October 9th, 1991, the City landfill will be closed as of October 9th, 1993. Following this date, the landfill will J no longer be available for disposal of waste material. T The City is currently in the process of closing the existing disposal "1 area. A pit will be provided at the landfill site to allow disposal of r waste materials between now and October 9th, 1993. Following this Idate, all waste except as outlined below, will be disposed of at the r Garfield County landfill located in Johns Valley. Partial equipment L rental, operator, and maintenance for the ongoing closure is being J donated to the City by Cindy Taylor Trucking. Panguitch City is in the process of establishing a site adjacent to the City for the disposal of tires, appliances, and lawn and grass X trimmings. Tags may be purchased at the District Office during regular office hours from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The office will also be open on Saturdays, Nov. 28, Dec. 5 and Dec. 12 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The office will not be open on Thanksgiving Day. Tags are $5.00 each (refunds not available) and are limited to one tag per house- ; hold. This allows the buyer to cut trees only on the Powell Ranger District; cutting , is not allowed in Red Canyon, an area within 500 feet of Kings Creek Campground. and tree plantations in the Mt. Dutton, Kanab Creek and Blubber Creek areas. Trees cannot be cut within 200 feet of roads or streams. s During the cutting operation, trees must be cut at ground level and excess limbs ; lopped and scattered. Trees can be cut up to eight feet In height. Any trees over ; eight feet may be purchased at $0.50 per each additional foot. Taller trees cannot be topped. Species available are white fir, subalpine fir, Douglas-fir. spruce, limber, pinyon and ponderosa pines. Bristlecone pine is not available for harvest. Additional information concerning Christmas tree permits may be obtained at the District Office in Panguitch, Utah. J |
