Show Hazel Rich Named Statewide Clerks Association President Garfield County ClerkAuditor Hazel Rich took over the reins as president of the Utah Association of County ClerkAuditors. Rich was sworn in at the recently-held convention con-vention of the Utah Association of Counties held at St. George Nov. 11-13. Rich will head up the organization organiza-tion for the upcoming year after first being elected secretarytreasurer secre-tarytreasurer two years ago and assuming as-suming the duties of vice-president forthe past year. During her term of office as president, she will be joined by Steve Hall, Sevier County, as vice president and Tamara Stone, Cache County, as secretarytreasurer. Rich's primary duty as president will be to take responsibility for the continuing education of clerks and clerksauditors as it applies to their individual counties and all members of the association. Many seminars and meetings are held each year to familiarize clerks with changes in the law as it applies to their duties. Rich's duties as clerkauditor in Garfield County include setting the certified tax rate after reviewing reports re-ports from all other county agencies involved with taxation, sending out disclosure statements and taking part at Board of Equalization meetings. She is also responsible for the court clerk and and that clerk's assistants, marriage licenses, ........ ., .,11 .1 Ml.,,1 , , , , : ' V r- f, "" ' Hazel Rich passports, elections, and, with Deputy Auditor Bruce Fullmer, auditing au-diting the county's budget, payroll, and accounts payable and receivable, receiv-able, as well as her own assistants. Rich began her term of office in 1984 by appointment at the death of former county clerk Edra Miller. She has two more years to serve after being elected twice. Asked what she likes best about her job, she said simply, "I love it all." She and her husband Mayo Rich divide their time between their Panguitch Pan-guitch residence and a summer home at Panguitch Lake. |
