Show Job Service Reports On Veteran Hiring With Veterans Day Nov. 1 1 fast approaching, the Panguitch Job Service Office has released results of its performance for the quarter ending Sept. 30 relating to hiring of veterans. The cumulative report covers five Job Service Centers in southern south-ern Utah: Cedar City, Beaver, Kanab, St. George, and Panguitch. Each office has 14 goals in Veterans Veter-ans Performance Standards, with performance goals set on a point system. The Panguitch office scored 100 percent on 11 out of their 14 goals. Even where they missed a perfect score, they still performed very well. For example, they scored 9 out of 1 3 in total placement to vets and cligibles, for 69 percent. In total to-tal placement to Vietnam veterans, their goal was 5 and they scored 4, missing by only one person. In reportable re-portable service to veterans and eli-giblcs, eli-giblcs, their goal was 23 and they scored 22, again missing by only one person. Each office has four criteria: (1) refer vets first on job orders, (2) use computer capabilities to help qualified quali-fied vets, (3) do job developments on all vets when possible as they come into the office seeking placement place-ment services, and (4) place more emphasis on vets in training programs. pro-grams. Counseling, labor market information, infor-mation, assistance in filling out forms, testing and workshops are some of the other services available to veterans through their local Job Service office. One day each month one of three veterans representatives is in the Panguitch office, one each from Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans, and American Legion.
