Show Giant Panguitch High Reunion In Planning Stages Plans, for reuniting everyone whomever attended high school in Panguitch, got well underway Oct. 26 when a committee of five met at the new Panguitch High School. The last such reunion took place in 1983 and the success of that event inspired planners to try for an even bigger and better gathering, set for the July 24 homecoming holidays in 1990. Equipped with complete lists of names for each class back to 1897, the group is seeking help in finding each person on the lists. With time having taken its toll since 1897, there is one class, the class of 1916, with only one surviving member, Vernon Reid of Pangui- tch. The committee is seeking help, contacts in areas all over Utah who will serve as liaison for the reunion activities. Ideas, personal experiences, experi-ences, and additional people to help with organizing activities and events for the reunion are also being be-ing asked for by the five-member group. Earl Roe, Shirley Chidester, Julia Steele, Ingra Richards and Merle Stowell are hoping to enlarge en-large their committee by Nov. 9 when they will meet again at Panguitch Pan-guitch High School in the conference confer-ence room at 10 a.m. Interested potential helpers are urged to call any of the five to volunteer. Everyone who has ever attended Garfield High School or Panguitch High School, even for a very short period, will be invited to attend the reunion. |
