Show Garfield Schools Graduate 66 This Week Garfield County high schools will hold commencement exercises for 66 graduating seniors this week. Escalante High School will graduate gradu-ate 11, Bryce Valley High School 25 and Panguitch High School 30. Escalante High School will hold its commencement at 8 Friday evening. Prelude music will be performed by Susan Wilson followed fol-lowed by the entry of the graduates in the traditional processional march. Rev. Jim Daggit will offer the invocation and graduating senior se-nior Elisha Allred offered the welcoming address. The class prognostication will be presented by Jodi Danklef, Scott Edrniston, Eric Hardison and David Baker. Shaeleen Piquet will introduce speakers Susan Wilson, Jim Smith, Janene Alleman, Ray Christian, and Sharol Bernardo. Seniors Meegan Venuti, Vince Shaffer and Brian Stowe will present pre-sent the class will. Principal Myron Cottam will present the graduates and school board members Dell LeFevre and Barry Barnson will award the diplomas. Travis Cottam will offer the closing with the graduates fol lowing with the recessional march. A reception in their honor will immediately follow the commencement com-mencement exercises. Candidates for graduation at Escalante High School include Elisha El-isha Mae Allred (class president), David Baker, Travis Myron Cottam (class vice president), Ronald Cowles, Jodi Danklef, Scott Allyn Edrniston, Eric Lee Hardison, Shaeleen Piquet, Vince C. Shaffer, Brian G. Stowe (class secretary), and Meegan Venuti. The graduating class motto is "Sleep with one eye open." Sharol Bernardo has served as class advisor. advi-sor. Rachael Johnson, class valedictorian, valedicto-rian, will present the valedictory speech, followed by salutatorian Teresa Anderson. Senior Bryant Shakespear will introduce commencement com-mencement speaker John W. Yard- ley. The graduates will sing "My Song" after which they will be presented pre-sented for their diplomas by principal princi-pal Lowell Mecham. Presenting diplomas will be school board member Rod Syrett. Terra Chynoweth will offer the closing prayer. Candidates for graduation at Bryce Valley High School include Teresa Anderson, Rebecca Bales, Angelique Boger, Terra Chynoweth, Stephanie Clark, Erica Fletcher, Cynthia Grimmer, Rachael Johnson, Cherrie Pollock, Kristine Pollock, Shantel Rich (class secretary), Krisette Shakespeare, Shake-speare, and Shana Shakespeare. Also, Shane Brinkerhoff, Thad Feltner, Alex Lanham, Brett Palmer, Heath Piatt, Kenny Pollock, Pol-lock, Kasey Richards, Bryant Shakespear, Ryan Shakespear (class president), Stefan Syrett, Yorke Williams (class vice president) and Brook Wiseman. At a special awards assembly, scholarships will be awarded to Rachael Johnson (full tuition academic aca-demic scholarship, Southern Utah University); Teresa Anderson, (half-tuition academic scholarship, SUU, full tuition scholarship, Brigham Young University, Hawaii, and Garkane Power Association, Asso-ciation, Utah Rural Electric Association Asso-ciation Scholarship, $100); Bryant Shakespear, full tuition 4-H scholarship, schol-arship, Utah State University); Shana Shakespeare (Rural Electric Association scholarship, $50.) A special $500 general scholarship will be awarded at the awards assembly. At Panguitch High School, commencement exercises are set for Thursday night Prelude music will include the traditional "Pomp and Circumstance." The graduates will sing "That's What Friends Are For," followed by the invocation offered by Michael Hulet. The welcoming address will be offered by co-salu-tatorian David Foy.
