Show Ezmimz3 Wows By Marlcne Haws 826-4859 There has been a lot of activity at the Claron Griffin home this fall. The Dennis Lott family, St. George and the Jim Spencer family, Orem have been together at every opportunity oppor-tunity to work on a new chain link fence for Claron and Ruby. It sure is looking good! ' Burdell and Martha Thompson stayed a night or two at the home of Betty P. Alvey while they hunted elk. They live in Salt Lake City. Earl Roe came from Panguitch to see his sister Thais Griffin and to attend the school bond meeting. Overnight guests at the Arnold Alvey home were Woodrow Gledhill and his new bride, Dorothy, of Loveland, Colo. They visited relatives here and in Boulder. Rodney Cottam is home from the hospital and seems to be doing a lot better. Glen and Colleen Imlay, Evanston, Wyo. brought their trailer and parked it at the home of Colleen's mother, Orilla Cowles. They will stay a few days and help get her place ready for winter before moving on to St. George for the winter. They will also spend some time here with Francis and Barbara Imlay. A wedding reception for Roy and Megan Venuti Boling was well attended at-tended and the couple left shortly afterward af-terward for a honeymoon at Disney World in Florida. Grandpa and Grandma Dudley and Hazel Spencer helped entertain out of town guests, then left for a tour of Branson, Mo. The night before they were to fly out of Salt Lake City, Dudley became be-came ill with the flu so they had to return home. Robert and Alice Sanborn are visiting from San Antonio, Tex. with the Spencers. Robert missed out on getting a license li-cense to hunt deer so has been riding rid-ing out with the Venuti boys just to enjoy the country. Congratulations to Eldon and Angie Griffin who were married Oct. 20 at the courthouse in Richfield. Those who reported being be-ing in attendance at the ceremony were Mary and Lavern Griffin, Marcie Griffin, Dallas Griffin and a friend from Phoenix, Ariz., Jolyn Petersen and Mandy Bryan, Payson. The newlyweds will reside in Escalantc. " Jillyn Sorensen, Salina brought the new baby to show her off and son Brandon to hunt with grandpa Klyn Haws. Theron and Laurie Coon, Santa Clara, also dropped in on the Hawses on their way home from the elk hunt on Boulder mountain. The Ronald and Linda Mecham family, Las Vegas, Nev., spent the weekend with Starns and Fon Mecham and joined forces with Lane and Geraldine Liston to haul wood. LoReta Spencer has had visits from daughter and sons Vicki Beck, Ephraim; Robert, Orderville; and Don, Janette and Amanda, Greeley, Colo. Don had suffered a heart attack at-tack a few weeks ago, but seemed to be recovering. When he returned home, however, he had to go back in the hospital for heart surgery. Jenny, daughter of Gary and Tammy Spencer, had a bad fall and it was feared her neck might be broken, so they life flighted her to the Primary Childrens Hospital in Salt Lake City. She checked out okay and is back home to recuperate. recuper-ate. Dave and Yolanda Mclnelly, Mesa, Ariz., joined Kent and Phyllis Mclnelly for the deer hunt and also spent some time with their mother Twila. The town was saddened to hear of the passing of our former Postmaster and friend, Wayne Barney, who had been residing in Mesa, Ariz. Our condolences to his daughters Jean and George Ikard, Roanoke, Va.; Joan and Joe Semones, Mesa, Ariz.; and Jill and Ron Carpenter, Sewanee, Tenn. The Norman Christensen home came alive again on the weekend as the family all arrived to help Norm, Greg and Chris with the cattle roundup. It included sons Clyde, Tooele; Keith and his wife Donna, Cedar City; Gary and Judilyn, St. George and daughters Mary and husband Sam Blauser, Tooele; and JoEllen Danklef, Cedar City. Judilyn divided her time with Lynn and Judy Griffin and Clyde brought son Stratton, who hunted with grandpa Freeland Alvey. |
