Show i Ay -4x- h :,. i -r r .. v. v" :--' t , . : -S-.V ,4 1 -' S ; wv.sxi -' ; ' :! -: - ; VV i ;- -H-mMm After a successful season of barrel racing, members of the newly organized Garfield Barrel Racing Association celebrated with an awards PANGUITCH Members of the Garfield Barrel Racing Association Asso-ciation concluded a successful year of barrel racing events with an awards party to honor contestants who excelled in their divisions during dur-ing the 1995 show season. The club organized in early May, holding hold-ing nine point shows throughout the summer. Contestants, who were placed into five age groups and categories, competed in barrel racing and pole bending. Those who competed in all the shows during the season and earned the most points were awarded buckles and horse tack as party, Happy prize winners, pictured with their saddles, include Christina Cabtu, Shanon Fischer, Debbie cantu, and Kim Swanger. Garfield County Barrel Racing Association Completes A Very Successful 1995 Season year-end prizes. Beautiful Frontier Barrel Racing saddles were awarded to all-around winners. Winners included (8 and under) Christina Cantu, Justin Reeves, and Benjamin Cantu; (12 and under) Shanon Fischer, Mitchell Moore, and Erin Fischer; (15 and under) Melissa Larson, shelly Chynoweth, and Nathan Cooper; (novice) Debbie Cantu, Tiffany Cox, Roxie Roundy, and Deanna Moore; (open) Kim Swanger, Sherry Hamilton, and Leniece Fischer. The GBRA hopes to begin its new season by mid-to-late April, weather permitting, and invites new members. The club attributes much of its success to the generous donations of local businesses and other contributions con-tributions in time and effort by dedicated ded-icated supporters of the club's goals with special recognition to the Rick Swanger family. |
