Show I mm mmmm I Millard L. Schow PANGUITCH Millard Lorcl Schow, 61, of Panguitch, Utah died Feb. 11, 1994 in Panguitch. He was born Dec. 5, 1932 in Panguitch to Guy and Elba Vcr-ncssa Vcr-ncssa Allen Schow. He married Evanell Smith, November 23, 1955 in Fredonia, Ariz. He had lived his whole life in Panguitch. He was employed by Kaibab for 19 years and retired in October of 1993. He enjoyed hunting and the outdoors. He was a faithful and loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He is survived by: wife, Evanell; three sons, Millard Gregory Gre-gory Schow, Christian Dell Schow and Stanley David and wife Michelle Schow; two grandchildren, grandchil-dren, Kelcie and Cortncy; two sisters sis-ters and one brother, Velva Chris-tensen, Chris-tensen, Guyla Savage and Stanley G. Schow. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 15, 1994 in the Panguitch Pan-guitch 2nd LDS Ward Chapel with Bishop Val D. Church officiating. June Schow offered the family prayer prior to the opening of the service and Barbara Hcaton and Barbara Orion provided the prelude and postludc music. The invocation was rendered by Bill Savage, followed by a vocal selection, "Have I Done Any Good In The World Today," by the Panguitch LDS Tri-Ward Choir. Speakers included Earl Roc and President John W. Yardlcy, with remarks by Bishop Val D. Church. A vocal selection "Beyond The Sunset" was rendered by the Panguitch Tri Ward Choir, with Norman T. Hcnric offering the benediction. Pallbearers were Greg Schow, Chris Schow, David Schow, Stan Schow, Joe Hughes and Vcrlc Palmer. Compassionate services were rendered by the sister of the Panguitch LDS 2nd Ward Relief Society. Interment was in the Panguitch Cemetery with Joe Hughes performing per-forming the dedication of the grave, under the direction of Ncal S. Ma-glcby Ma-glcby & Sons Mortuary, Richfield. Mary E. Manker PANGUITCH Mary Ethclda Ashcraft Manker, 84, died February 10, 1994 in Panguitch, Utah. She was born February 15, 1910 in Robison, Ind. to Asa Edgar and Eva Lucille Fields Ashcraft. She married Robert Haskell Manker, Sept. 2, 1941. He preceded pre-ceded her in death Dec. 27, 1980 Mary's family moved to Indianapolis, Indi-anapolis, Ind. in 1914. She grew up in a musical family where each child studied voice and two instruments. instru-ments. Mary studied piano and mandolin. She and her two sisters, Doris and Rose, sang trios as the Ashcraft Sisters and Mary also sang in her church choir. Mary graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in Indianapolis Indi-anapolis in 1929 and was employed by a credit company for 10 years before moving to Santa Monica, Calif., where she worked for Douglas Dou-glas Aircraft for several years and Bob Manker. They moved to Fayctteville, Ark. in 1941 and to Reno, Ncv. where she and Robert operated their own shoe repair shop in Sparks, Nev. for many years. After retiring to Escalante, Utah in 1971, they occasionally did shoe and boot repair since there was no local shop. Mary was an active member of both the Soroplimists and BPW clubs of Reno and Sparks, Nev., attending many of their conventions. conven-tions. Mary loved people a made a lot of friends in town. She especially enjoyed the Senior Citizen group and nearly always Hannah Stewart SANTA CLARA, UTAH Hannah Areta Roundy Stewart, age 89, passed away peacefully Feb. 12, 1994. She was born Sept. 12, 1904 to Myron Ervin and Hannah Elizabeth Eliza-beth Hcaton Roundy in Ordcrville, Utah. She lived in Alton, Utah until her marriage to Otto M. Stewart in the St. George LDS Temple on Dec. 20, 1929. He preceded her in death, May 20, 1984. They raised their children in Tropic, Utah; later moving to Washington, Utah and then to Santa Clara. She was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in all auxiliaries aux-iliaries and as a temple worker. She had been a 4-H leader and a member mem-ber of the DUP. Surviving family members include in-clude two sons and four daughters, Otto Stewart, Jr. and wife Ardith of Santa Clara; Mrs. Scott (Vrene) Robinson of Boise, Ida.; Mrs. Fayetteville, Ark.; Rose Parker, Escalante, Utah and Edgar Ashcraft, Zionsville, Ind. Funeral services were held on Monday, Feb. 14, 1994 at the Escalante LDS State Center with Bishop Marc McLemore of the Escalante 1st LDS Ward officiating. Gary Griffin offered the family prayer prior to the opening of the service. Prelude and postlude music was performed by Kathy Griffin, followed by an invocation by Thais Griffin. Tributes were offered by Fay Alvey and Karen Barry, followed by Phyllis Alvey giving the benediction. Pallbearers were Gene Griffin, Gary Griffin, Brent Griffin, Wayne Banks, Brent Cottam and Melvin Alvey. Interment was in the Escalante Cemetery with Brent Griffin performing per-forming the dedication of the grave, under the direction of Neal S. Ma-gleby Ma-gleby & Sons Mortuary, Richfield, attended. Although she had no children of her own, she was especially close to her two nieces, Karen Parker Barry and Phyllis Ashcraft Girdwood, several of Robert's nieces and nephews and Thais and Gene Griffin's Grif-fin's family. They were her family. Mary's love was unconditional and dependable. She will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by two sisters and one brother, Doris Manker, Harold (Marva) Thompson and Mrs. Ron (Lorea) Durrant both of Cedar City, Utah; Levi Ervin "Lee" Stewart of Washington, Utah and Mrs. Gordon (Devora) Blain of Spring City, Utah; 25 grandchildren, grandchil-dren, 83 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren, one sister Belva Gollaher of Washington, Washing-ton, Utah. She was preceded in death by a brother Elmer Roundy. Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 18, 1994, 1 p.m. at the Santa Clara Fifth Ward Chapel, 3040 West Santa Clara Dr. in Santa Clara. Friends may call Thursday, Feb. 17, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Spilsbury - Desert Rose Memorial Chapel, 58 North 100 East, St. George Ge-orge and Friday afternoon from 11:30 a.m.to 12:30 p.m. at the Santa Clara Fifth Ward Chapel prior to the services. Burial will be at the St. George Cemetery under the direction di-rection of Spilsbury - Desert Rose Mortuary. |
