Show Koosharem Resident Robert L. Hampton Dies Of Heart Attack KOOSHAREM Robert LeGoy Hampton died June 3 in Koosharem of a massive heart attack. The 56-year-old Hampton was serving as president of the board of directors of South Central Utah Telephone Association at the time of his death. Officials at the Escalante-based cooperative said Monday, "We gretaly appreciate his many years of dedicated service to our company and he will be missed. We extend our condolences to his wife Vanya and their family." Always active in the comunity, Hampton was first elected to the board in 1989. He was in his third term on the board and had been elected president in 1992. Retired from Kennecott Copper in 1981, Hampton dedicated his life to serving the community he loved and iin service through scouting where he was Webelo leader. He served for three years on the Koosharem Koo-sharem Town Council and was a volunteer on the town's fire department. depart-ment. (See Obituary on Page 5 A) ( GREG OBITUARIES 1 Robert LeRoy Hampton KOOSHAREM, UTAH Robert LeRoy Hampton, age 56, died June 3, 1995 in Koosharem of a massive heart attack. He was born Feb. 22, 1939 in Koosharem, a son of LeRoy Morgan and Beatrice Erickson Hampton. He was raised by his grandparents, Otto and Clara Erickson and Aunt Mary and Uncle Don Brown. He married Yvonne Carlson July 15, 1960 in Magna, Utah. Later divorced. He married Moana Shuster June 15, 1976 in Salt Lake City. Later divorced. He married Maria Shuster Dec. 4, 1986 in Koosharem. Later divorced. He married Vanya DeLange Sept. 9, 1989 in the South Jordan LDS Temple. He served four years in the U.S. Navy. He worked at Kennecott Copper Company in Magna until medically retired in 1981. He served on the Koosharem City Council for three terms. Robert loved Koosharem and was actively involved in doing anything any-thing he could to improve the community. He was elected to the South Central Utah Telephone Association Board for three terms and was the board president at the time of his death. He was a volunteer volun-teer on the Koosharem Fire Department. Robert was active in the LDS Church and was a member of the High Priests Quorum in Koosharem. He was also the Mary Anna Allen ROY, 'UTAH Mary Anna Barnhurst Allen, 93, died Saturday June 3, 1995 in the Heritage Care Center. She was bom Nov. 19, 1901 in Cedar City, a daughter of Joseph Erastus and Lillie Dale Adams Barnhurst. She married Andrew Herald Allen, Aug. 21, 1920 in Junction, Utah; the marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. He died March 1977. Mrs. Allen was reared and educated edu-cated in Hatch and lived in Antimony. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, was an accomplished seamstress and dearly loved children. As a member of the LDS Church, she was a visiting teacher in the Relief Society. He is survived by his wife, Vanya of Koosharem; children, Tonia Hampton, Tcrrin and Dawn Hampton, Priscilla Hampton, John Hampton, Nina Hampton, all of Koosharem; Troy Hampton and Tina Little, both of Provo; Tracy and Deana Hampton of Salt Lake City; Tammy Hampton of Magna; eleven grandchildren, Arron Hampton, Kisha, Teddi and Mandi Knowlton, Jessi Crump, Jake and Robert Hampton, Tisha Little, Sarah, Katie and Ellie Hampton; May Powell, Corbett, Ore.; Mrs. Orvella Butts, Twin Falls, Ida.; Isadora & Edward Fetzcr, West Haven; Mrs. Ruby Didcricksen, Thatcher; Elva & Eugene Owens, Clearfield; James Hcrold Allen, Ogden; 29 grandchildren, 79 greatgrandchildren, great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Benjamin & Kathrine Barnhurst, St. Helens, Ore.; one sister, Mrs. Oncta Hansen, Redding, Calif. She was preceded in death by one grandson, one great-grandson, four brothers and three sisters. Funeral services will be held Thurs., June 8 at 11 a.m., in the Thatcher Penrose Ward Chapel, 11475 W. 10400 N., with Bishop Roland Robison, officiating. Friends may call prior to the services ser-vices from 9"30 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Friends may call for viewing view-ing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, Wed. evening from 7 until 9 p.m. and at the ward chapel in Koosharem, Thurs. from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. prior to the services. Burial with military honors accorded ac-corded by the Richfield VFW Post 5050 will be in the Koosharem Cemetery under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah. |
