Show Bryce Valley's Bantam Boosters Parents of Bryce Valley bantam ballplayers met in an organizational meeting in January and boasted representation from 23 area families. Long time Bantam supporter Alfred Foster chaired the meeting until elections were held that evening when newly-elected president Carl Shakespear took the lead. Other elected officers include Klin Chynoweth as vice-president and Nancy Twitchell as secretarytreasurer. secre-tarytreasurer. A brief year-end report was presented by former secretarytreasurer secretarytreas-urer Florence Syrett, who brought everyone up-to-date on bantam procedure and current financial standing. Parents decided to organize as an overall booster club for all Bryce Valley sports and proceed with a . specific membership drive to boost member rolls. Decisions were also made on ' division of teams, coaches, membership, mem-bership, fund raising, uniforms, etc. The group decided to proceed immediately with team recruitment and collection of insurance monies and follow-up with a prolonged drive for new membership. Dues were set at $5 per person and $10 per family, which membership would entitle all family members to free entrance into bantam home games. A decision to set bantam game admission fees at $1 per game was also made. Insurance coverage will remain at $5 per ballplayer or . cheerleader. In the coming weeks, Carl Shakespear and Klin Chynoweth will check further into the question of how to divide up bantam teams for play and when and where games will be scheduled. Additional booster club meetings meet-ings are slated and any parents with bantam or booster questions should contact any of the current booster officers. |
