Show Roman Catholic Message My Dear People: Each year, when the world is at its coldest and the night its longest, the mystery of Bethelem repeats itself. We draw near to the manger where the Light of the world warms us with His love and brightens the paths that lead to God's kingdom of peace. Shepherds were the first to hear the good news of our salvation. For two thousand years, the angel's message has been a word of hope for the oppressed, a warning for those who count upon themselves, and an invitation for us to identify ourselves with the homeless as we join Mary and Joseph on their pilgrim journey. Our Savior came to us as a child to overturn the values and the wisdom of a grown-up world grown mad. He came to show us what it means to be God's children, helpless except ex-cept for God's love. Let us rejoice in our Savior's birth. Let us warm ourselves our-selves in His love. Let His infant cries call us to be His voice of justice and peace. May the joy of Christ's Holy birth be with you in this season of Christmas, and may it comfort you through the New Year. Your pastor, ; Rev.; Father J. H. Valine, O.P. |
